Mykonos is the most popular island destination of Greece in terms of cosmopolitan lifestyle and vibrant nightlife as witnessed by a vast number of bars and nightclubs. The island belongs to the Cyclades complex of islands, located among Paros, Naxos and Tinos, spreading in area of approximately 105 km (~40 sq m). Additionally its highest spot stands around 340 m (~1,20 ft).
Despite the lack of green nature, Mykonos Island has significant beauty. Composed mainly of granite the island has approximately 9.000 inhabitants a norm that increased radically from spring to autumn. Both locals and visitors live and stay (where Hermes Hotel is also established) at the island's capital, Mykonos Town or Chora as called in Greek on the west coastline.
Mykonos is also connected with the Greek mythology and took its name after a local hero, who is presumed an offspring of the god Apollo and was worshipped locally in antiquity.
